Two cops shot, injured in Dallas Castle
TWO police officers from the Half-Way-Tree police station were last night shot and injured in the Dallas Castle community in rural St Andrew.
Information about the shooting was sketchy at press time but an officer from the Half-Way-Tree station confirmed the incident.
“Officers are now at the hospital, and we cannot say anything much at the moment,” an officer said.
The two policemen were apparently part of a team of cops who were on duty in the area, and are now listed as being in critical condition in hospital, according to Corporal Dahlia Garrick of the Constabulary Communication Network.
“We are not sure what kind of assignment they were on but we are awaiting an update,” Garrick said.
Last Tuesday night, a police constable from the Kingston East Police Division was shot and injured at Paradise Street in Dunkirk. Police said a mobile patrol was on Paradise Street when they were fired on by two armed men. The cop was injured in the left hand and the windscreen of the service vehicle was shattered.
